There are no shortcuts, but there are wormholes!

When I take the long haul seriously, I don’t try to hack but to sustain and connect

New and different knowledge and connections come through rest and restoration.

Some months ago, in a money mindset game (hosted by Alina Barna) the first day’s challenge was to imagine spending 1500 today.

My first thought was to spend on tech and business things.

After a while, i realised i really wanted to spend that kind of money on nurturing bodywork, ongoing over an extended period.

Can you feel the difference in your own body just reading that?

So it’s taken me a while to actually implement, but this last week I softened into the gravid stillness of a biodynamic cranio sacral therapy session, and also the soothing flow of a kahuna massage.

I was reminded of this possibility by my own writing.   Do you recall that a few weeks ago I talked about separating treatment from pain?   That it would be ok to organise a restorative treatment for myself without having to be in extreme pain first?    To break that mental sequencing link.    Cut straight to the gentleness and care.

And also committing to an extended series of treatments, trusting that the benefits will be cumulative over time.   It is not necessary for any individual treatment to work a miracle.    LOL.  playing statistics, rather than odds.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a gentle, non-invasive bodywork that uses light touch to tune into the body’s natural rhythms, supporting its innate intelligence to heal, self-regulate, and release stored tension from physical and emotional trauma.

Kahuna massage, is a holistic, rhythmic bodywork using long, flowing strokes with hands, forearms, and elbows to release deep physical tension and emotional stress, promoting deep relaxation and a sense of spiritual connection by clearing energy blockages and restoring balance to the mind, body, and spirit.

I highly recommend both.

So the most remarkable thing that has emerged from these hands on connections so far, beyond the immediate deep calm and relaxation, is the affirmations and ideas the practitioners have offered me.

Following her deep listening to my body in BCST, Nicki asked if I’d heard of the discipline of Focusing.

I had not.   Now I have read up about it and am delighted by the structure it offers to the concept of feeling into and articulating what is experienced as formless, wordless personal truth.

Grateful for this fresh framing of an experience with which I am familiar.   Affirming and encouraging.

Following the softening of kahuna massage, with the clarity that what I long for is more integration (both internally and externally) Nadine suggested that “women who run with the wolves” came to her.   This is a book I know, and that draws itself to my attention at this time of year it seems.    La Loba, the wolf woman who breathes life into the bones.     Internally and externally.    Again, affirming and encouraging.

I also opened my copy of the book to a random page to read about “the girl without hands”, who travels with a guardian, and the universe takes care of her until her capacity is ultimately restored.

This is so hard to trust, for those of us who pride ourselves on our capability and independence.

And yet in this moment, I am allowing the hands of others to help and heal me where my own hands cannot.

Urgh.

Blessings on your path.
