8 April 2025

There are a lot of Cinderellas in the room lately. Tender-hearted, high-capacity women doing the caring work, burned out not from failure, but from too much giving. Ash-covered, holding dreams that feel too precious or too impractical to name out loud.

We’re figuring it out together—step by step, day by day—what healing looks like when you’ve spent years holding it all.

In a mentorship group this week, I heard myself say:

“There are a lot of Cinderellas in the room feeling for the comfortable shoes. We’re figuring it out together. I look forward to watching you rediscover your spark.”

But the autocorrect changed it: rediscover your speak.

And honestly? That felt just as true.

Because when the right shoes find you—not the ones that make you disappear, but the ones that fit—you do begin to speak differently.

From the ash, from the spark, from the truth of who you are.

Because this is what I believe: we’re not looking for glass slippers that shatter under pressure. We’re feeling for the shoes that fit. The ones that only we can wear. They might seem unbelievable, even impractical—but when they’re right, they feel amazing. They carry us forward. They open doors.

Later, someone shared their ‘taking a break’ story, and I found myself responding:

“Oof. I’m not sure healing from pneumonia counts as relaxing. Recovery is some of the hardest internal work there is. Lots of lessons in humility and receiving care. Not easy ones either.”

That’s what this work often is. Not glamorous. Not linear. And certainly not effortless.
Rest can feel impossible when we’re wired to keep going. But sometimes, the body insists. It lays us down in the ash. To let the cinders speak.
It’s hard. It’s real. It’s not the glam part of the story—but it is where transformation begins.

Here’s the thing: I’m a coach, yes—but I’m not your fairy godmother.
None of us are, alone.
She’s all the women who’ve lived this story.
Who viscerally understand the cost of care.
And who are quietly, fiercely rooting for you.

When you speak your dreams—even if they sound wild or whispery—those godmothers gather. We make things happen. We offer you a glimpse, a taste, a time-limited magic to show you what’s possible. And once your heart connects to that feeling? Your path starts to show up. Step by unexpected step.

It’s not about a perfect fix.
It’s about a glimpse, a breath, a moment of presence.
A heart-connection.
A sense of how the path might feel, once the shoes are on.

And once you’ve felt that truth in your body—once the path finds you—you start walking, and talking – differently. With more clarity. More energy. Less pretending.

That’s what I offer in my coaching:

  • A place to let the cinders speak.
  • Support in finding the shoes that really fit.
  • Partnership, not perfection, Trusting that your next steps are already being shaped by the ones who walked before you, including your younger self.

We don’t do this alone.

But we do get to do it together.

And that changes everything.

This isn’t about pushing through or pretending it’s easy

—it’s about walking with tenderness, power, and truth.

Your path is calling.

Let’s follow it together.

How does that sound for a plan?

AuDHD-friendly affirmation for burned out women

You don’t have to keep wearing shoes that don’t fit just because they looked good on someone else.

Many women with AuDHD in their lives love to offer deep care, make meaning out of mess, and bring beauty to broken systems.

They are conditioned to mask their needs, override their intuition, and keep going even when their body says stop.

Which undermines our ability to recognize the moment we’re ready to change direction—and trust it.

Remember you can pause without failing. You can rest and still be radiant. You can want more and still be kind to yourself.

I trust you to know when something no longer fits, even if you’re not ready to take it off yet.

Inside “Becoming the Star“, you will listen gently to your nervous system, reconnect with your own rhythm, and begin to move from truth—not pressure.

Notes on the Cinderella connection

Connected heart

Starting with cinderella.

There’s a lot of Cinderellas in the room feeling for the comfortable shoes. We’re figuring it out together, step by step, day by day. Look forward to watching you rediscover your speak.

oof. I’m not sure healing from pneumonia counts as “relaxing”. Recovery is some of the hardest internal work there is. Lots of lessons in humility and receiving care. Not easy ones either.

Explain the thinking behind that.

Burnout.  Work together.  Find the comfortable shoes, that only we can wear.

That seem unbelievable and impractical, yet feel amazing, and create astonishing opportunities

Cinderella.   I thought of this because burnout – ash – cinderella.

Doing the caring work.

Exhausted.

Fairy godmother.

Not one but many – all the women in the world who viscerally understand the struggle

And who are rooting for you

And when you talk about your dreams, your wishes

They can make them come true.

And find comfortable shoes.

To take you where you want to go.

So there is an element of tasting it first, time limited

And then once the heart connection is made

The shoes, ie your path, will find you.

How does that sound for a plan?
