Q: Tell me more about your Invisible Woman Project

Written by Rachael Skyring

Rachael Skyring is a curious woman. Neurodivergent. Committed carer. Over thinker. Sensitive feeler. Stubborn AF. With postgraduate degrees in Astrophysics and Rocket Science, she's spent the last twenty years as mostly a Mum, the last ten honing her metaphysical quantum brain surgery skills through mindful movement and embodiment practices. Whoever you want to be, and wherever you want to go, Rachael can start you on your way. The sky's the limit. Let's begin!

A:  thank you Victoria F for asking and inviting the fairies in 😁.

Dearest,

At its core, the Invisible Woman project is about living from an authentic, organic growth mindset.

It’s about wondering what else, what more can I imagine is possible for me, for us, for women and humanity, and taking tiny action to manifest those inklings in your own life, creating a positive feedback loop of thinking, feeling and acting in alignment with your true desires, capacities and constraints.

I woke up to the need for this in my own life after twenty odd years of marriage and family raising, which I had blithely believed to be a partnership of equal but different contributions (from each according to their capacity, to each according to their need, to quote the Socialist ideal).

To my dismay, I one day discovered that my partner felt able to discount my contribution as of negligible value, and weaponise that against me. (Hello Animal Farm)

That was a WTF moment!!!!!!!!.

Doubly confronting because in my secret heart of hearts I also was not absolutely convinced that the time, attention, presence, competence and care I was bringing to my family was of real value, since I wasn’t also bringing in enough money to cover expenses.

Oof

Through much guided inner work (thank you to my many teachers), reading and reflection, I am now rock solid in my belief that all those intangibles I brought and continue to bring to my family and relationships ARE OF INESTIMABLE VALUE.

“Priceless”  to quote the Mastercard ads.  Money knows there are things that money can’t buy.

I have also become acutely aware that such a belief requires continual conscious maintenance in a concrete world where the messages both overt and covert endlessly suggest otherwise.

That women, and especially non professional women, are somehow deficient and lacking.

It’s not even clear how or why, if you look closely.

But if you don’t look closely and ask questions

(because you’re too busy, don’t want to offend, don’t want to cause trouble, don’t want to look stupid/uncool)

there is a real danger of allowing that feeling to creep into your subconscious and mess with your precious stores of self belief, self worth and self acceptance.

Toxic, Soul destroying stuff.

So the Invisible Woman project is about reaching out to that invisible sense of self, just at the edge of mundane awareness and checking in to find out what she needs and what she has to share.

In the process, your positive, self affirming consciousness necessarily expands – gently, sensibly, sustainably, little by little – until you’ve embodied more and more of that previously Invisible Woman and you feel grounded, powerful, confident, sustainable.

The thrill is that there’s always more – including more time.  Go at your own pace, and you’re always on track.

“This place where you are now, God [the Invisible Woman] has circled on a map for you”

Hafiz, italics mine.

The Invisible Woman is patient, kind and exacting.

All the things that romantic love and God are commonly described as.

But for me it has been this journey, these words that have unlocked the doors to the deep feelings of unconditional love and acceptance that twelve years of Catholic schooling and thrice that of intimate heterosexual relationships rarely touched.

My work is to invite and guide you into direct connection with your own internal wellspring, your irrepressible source of unconditional love and acceptance – the Invisible Woman who’s just there, waiting for you.

Next week I’ll tell you a self love story featuring the Invisible Woman plus pancakes and maple (flavoured?) syrup.

In the meantime, there are still a couple of days to reach out and ask about joining the first round of Freeing the Invisible Woman 1:1 embodiment coaching program, which is scheduled to start next week.

It’s a rich and beautiful experience, enabling participants to rest into enoughness and creative wonder.

All the thinks and things I’ve talked about above.

Also, I actively invite your questions about my thinking and sharing.

If there is stuff here that feels hazy and you want to understand better, please ask.

It’s that old chestnut – there are no stupid questions, and you’ll likely be asking something that is helpful for me and everybody else who’s listening.

I perform much better in conversational than monologuing contexts.

You feel me?   (as my middle child would say)

I look forward to hearing from you.
